In conjunction with the Awa Odori in Tokushima City, which opens on the 12th, a dance to welcome tourists at Tokushima Airport is being performed for the first time in four years from the 11th.

At Tokushima Airport, a group of dancers has been performing a welcome dance every year to coincide with the Awa Odori in Tokushima City, but it was canceled for three years until last year due to the influence of the new coronavirus.

This year, it reopened for the first time in four years in response to the transition of the new corona to Class 3, and on the 5th, more than 4 students from Shikoku University in Tokushima City performed a dance at the main entrance.

When people arrived at the airport, they filmed the powerful dance performed to the rhythm of the flutes and shamisen with their smartphones.

Some parents and children joined the students and danced together, enjoying the atmosphere of Awa Odori.

A woman in her 11s who came with her family from Osaka said, "I danced with my one-year-old son for the first time.

In addition, Mr. Haruhito Sato of the council that hosted the welcome dance said, "I am honestly happy to be welcomed with a dance for the first time in four years, and I hope that you will enjoy the Awa Odori in Tokushima City from the 20th."

The dance that greets tourists at the airport is held until the 30th, when the Awa Odori in Tokushima City opens.
