In a case in which Representative Masatoshi Akimoto allegedly received approximately 3000 million yen from a wind power company over offshore wind power generation, the president of a wind power company has indicated to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors' Special Investigation Division that he intends to admit to bribery charges against Representative Akimoto, according to an interview with a lawyer.
On the other hand, Senator Akimoto has not made any comments so far.

The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors' Special Investigation Division is searching Akimoto's office and other facilities on suspicion of bribery in a case in which Representative Masatoshi Akimoto (48) allegedly received approximately 64 million yen from Masayuki Tsukawaki (3000), president of Japan Wind Power Development, a wind power company in Tokyo, over offshore wind power generation, which the government is aiming to expand the introduction of.

President Tsukawaki's lawyer had previously argued that the funds provided were not provided to Akimoto personally at the operating expenses of the horse owners association he established with Akimoto, and that they did not constitute bribes, but interviews with lawyers revealed that President Tsukawaki has indicated to the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors' Special Investigation Division that he intends to admit to bribery charges against Akimoto.

One of President Tsukawaki's lawyers resigned after explaining that he had changed his intention to accept the prosecution's policy of proof to protect the company due to the fact that the Special Investigation Department had searched even his business partners.

Four years ago, when Akimoto applied to be registered as a horse owner of the Central Horse Race, he temporarily received a temporary fund of about 1 million yen from President Tsukawaki, and it seems that the Special Investigation Department is investigating the purpose of the series of funds, including this 4 million yen.

On the other hand, Senator Akimoto has not made any comments so far.

Resigned lawyer: "Search for business partners, policy change is a difficult decision"

A lawyer who resigned at the request of President Tsukawaki said, "In order to protect the company from the fact that the Special Investigation Department searched even our business partners, we decided to accept all the stories of the prosecution without hesitation.
