The youngest prefectural councillor elected to the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly in April at the age of 4 held a press conference in August to apologize for driving without a license.

It was revealed that Pearl Nakayama, a 28-year-old member of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly, had been driving without a license in Shizuoka City in August, even though his license had expired in mid-May.

The Nakayama Prefectural Assembly held a press conference at the Shizuoka Prefectural Government Office on May 5 and apologized, saying, "We sincerely apologize for causing great inconvenience and concern and for causing distrust in politics."

In addition, he initially told the interviewer that he was not aware of the revocation of his license, but explained that he had given a different explanation in the interview with the prefectural assembly group, "I was aware of the revocation and was aware of the lack of license," and that "there was a part of me that was upset and I could not tell you all the facts."

On the other hand, while he said, "I would like to have a little more time to think about my own retirement," he said, "I would like to reflect more deeply and make amends for my sins by working harder than quitting and taking responsibility."

Regarding the Nakayama Prefectural Assembly, the prefectural assembly faction "Fujinokuni Prefectural Citizens' Club" to which he belonged was expelled, and the Prefectural Federation of the National Democratic Party, to which he belonged, has received a notice of defection.

In addition, the Liberal Democratic Reform Council, the largest faction in the prefectural assembly, decided on the 8th to ask the Nakayama Prefectural Assembly to resign.

Representative Tamaki: "I apologize for disappointing you"

Tamaki, a representative of the People's Democratic Party, said at a press conference, "I have heard from the Shizuoka Prefectural Federation of the Party, based on the deep remorse of Representative Nakayama himself, that they have decided to accept the notice of defection from the party. It was a very thoughtless act and driving knowing that your license had expired was a grave mistake. I have to say that I lack the awareness of myself as a public figure, and I would like you to start from scratch."
