In the case of a male member of the Japan University American football team who was arrested for concealing cannabis and stimulants, interviews with investigators revealed that when the university received information that a member of the club was suspected of using cannabis last year, it was a former police officer who was not related to the drug department.

In response to the arrest of a 21-year-old male member of the Japan University American football team for concealing dried cannabis and stimulants in a dormitory, the university held a press conference on the 8th.

In it, the university clarified that a member of the club had self-reported that he had used what appeared to be cannabis in November last year, and explained that "we consulted with police officials, but they replied that it was difficult to prove the facts because there was no physical evidence."

When the Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the person who received this consultation, it was found through interviews with investigators that he was a former police officer of a university that was not affiliated with the police department in his jurisdiction and was not related to the drug department.

Furthermore, regarding the content of the consultation, the information was that "a whistleblower was sent to the university" and not that "a member of the department self-reported".

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the details of the discrepancies and will continue to clarify the route of obtaining the drug found this time.
