The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) opened its first joint exercise with the Italian Air Force to the press on the 8th.

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) is conducting its first joint exercise with the Italian Air Force from Komatsu Air Base in Ishikawa Prefecture from June 7.

On the 8th, we showed to the press the F-15 fighter jets of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and F35 fighters of the Italian Air Force taking off from the base.

After this, the commanders of both sides held a press conference, and Air Self-Defense Force Commander Yasuhiko Suzuki stated, "The joint training between Japan and Italian fighter jets has just taken the first step, and we would like to further evolve the content in the future."

Italian Air Force Air Command Commander Alberto Biabhatti said, "I think this drill was a good stepping stone for even more meaningful cooperation between the two countries, and I would like to come to Japan again to share technologies and other technologies," and expressed his intention to strengthen cooperation in the future.

Since last fall, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force has been conducting joint exercises with Germany, India, and France for the first time in Japan, and it seems that the aim is to strengthen cooperation with other countries, bearing in mind the Chinese military, which is intensifying its activities.

Joint training is scheduled to take place until the 10th.
