"According to weather forecasts, on the morning of August 9, short-term rains, showers and thunderstorms are expected in the capital. With a thunderstorm, the wind will increase with gusts of up to 17 meters per second," the statement said.

Also, citizens were urged to be more careful on the street in bad weather, for example, not to stand under trees and not to park cars next to them.

Earlier, the head of the situation center of Roshydromet, Yuri Varakin, said that the heat would subside from August 9 to 11 in the Tver, Yaroslavl, Ivanovo, Vladimir, Moscow, Smolensk and Kaluga regions.
