- William Friedkin, director of The Exorcist and The French Connection, dies
American artist Dj Casper, who swept the charts with his song Cha Cha Slide, has died at the age of 58 after battling liver and kidney cancer since 2016.
Originally from Chicago, Casper created this song in 1998 as a training method that his nephew, who was a personal trainer, could implement into his routines.
The song quickly reached the international level, and with the dance that accompanied it, it quickly became popular at weddings, parties, sporting events or included in the famous series 'Orange is the new Black'.
Casper had several health problems since he was 22 years old, when he suffered a brain aneurysm and had to be operated on for a retinal detachment. In 2016 he was diagnosed with kidney and liver cancer that, despite remitting on occasion, has ended his life.
