Lanzhou, 8 Aug (ZXS) -- Ru Shi, deputy director of the Research Department of the Gansu Provincial Museum, revealed to a reporter from the China News Agency on 8 August that the "Dunhuang Tibetan Scripture Dongbao Parents' Encense Transformation Silk Painting," jointly edited by the museum and the Dunhuang Academy, was recently published by the Dunhuang Literature and Art Publishing House. In the form of "one picture and one book", he comprehensively interprets the silk paintings of "Returning to the Parents' Grace and Change" in the Gansu Provincial Museum, which are both academic and popular.

"The Silken Painting of Returning the Parents' Grace Classic" was originally from the Dunhuang Tibetan scripture cave, and is an important physical material for studying the version and disguised version of the "Buddha's Saying Parents' Grace and Heavy Sutra", and has important historical, artistic and research value. In 1996, it was identified by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China as a first-class cultural relic (national treasure-level cultural relics). The silk painting has many characters and exquisite arrangement design, which is the most complete preserved, the most complex in content, and the most plot in Dunhuang's "Parents' Grace and Heavy Changes".

The content of this silk painting provides valuable information for studying the beliefs of the people in the Dunhuang area at that time, and vividly reflects the folk customs and social life of children in the Dunhuang area at that time.

Ru Shi said that before the publication of the book, the Institute of Cultural Relics Digitization of the Dunhuang Academy conducted a digital collection of silk paintings, and professionals from the Gansu Provincial Museum, the Dunhuang Academy and the University of Hong Kong collaborated to interpret the content of silk paintings in an all-round way, revealing their rich connotations and artistic achievements. This book is the most detailed, complete, and scientific work on this silk painting ever seen.

Ru Shi said that the book contains more than 100 high-definition plates, and adopts the method of displaying details in sections for each part of the silk painting, such as the narrative map, the story map, the scripture text, and the vow text, and each picture is accompanied by a detailed text description. In order to facilitate readers to enjoy the whole picture of the silk painting, a high-definition large picture page of the silk painting is specially bound at the title page.
