In recent years, Jianou has frequently appeared in Beijing, Macao, Taiwan and other places as well as Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Malaysia as a "people's ambassador", which has attracted considerable attention.

Why did Jian Ou become a "civil messenger"? This is related to its origin, inheritance and development.

Jianou Banner is a unique folk skill in northern Fujian. According to legend, the Jianou soldiers who followed Zheng Chenggong to recover Taiwan and waved them on bamboo poles to commemorate the martyrs, which gradually evolved into the custom of Jianou picking flags, which has been passed down to this day.

Since its birth at the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, Jianou Banner has a history of more than 300 years and is known as the "Chinese Superb Art". In 2008, the Nakahata (建ou Banner) was included in the first batch of representative items of national intangible cultural heritage.

Like other folk unique work, the inheritance of Jianou banners is inseparable from the long-term efforts of local civil society organizations and banner artists. Born in 1956, Zhu Shiliang has a soft spot for Jian Ou Banner, and for more than <> years, "as long as I have time, I have to practice for an hour every morning and evening", and this is still the case.

Chen Xiaoling, 54, has been practicing Jianou Banner since 2006 and is now one of the "iron fans". During the day's performance, Jianou Banner moved freely in his hands. She said that although it is very bitter, very tiring, and the banner is very heavy, she can exercise her body during the practice, and she can also inherit traditional culture.

In order to make the inheritance of Jianou banner more orderly, the art of picking flags entered Jianou City primary and secondary schools, and many "doll" banner pickers were trained. "When I first started learning Jianou Banner in the third grade of elementary school, it was initially fun and exciting." Born in 2006, Dong Mingxuan has been practicing Jianou Banner for more than seven years, and he is calm and calm when performing live.

Dong Mingxuan said that after really starting to contact Jianou Banner, he was moved by its cultural connotation, and in the process of practice, his body became stronger and stronger.

"You must have perseverance and the spirit of contribution, and you must not be afraid of hardship and fatigue in order to practice." Zhu Shiliang told reporters that Jianou requires both strength and skill, the most important of which is to master balance, and most of the performers have to practice for more than ten years, and the skills and movements will be proficient. "Most of the performers who pick the banner are amateurs, and they all insist on it because they love it."

In the past, most people thought that the banner was a folk juggler, how to make the Jianou banner climb the "hall of elegance"? In 2002, Zhu Shiliang led the establishment of a non-governmental organization focusing on banner performances, the Jianou City Banner Art Troupe in Fujian Province. He led the group members to repeatedly explore and innovate movements and tricks, and the number of Jianou Banner Picking moves increased from a few simple before 2000,30 to more than <> today, and the difficulty of performing became more and more difficult.

In December 2011, the "Jianou Banner - Celebration" performed by the Jianou City Banner Art Troupe in Fujian Province won the 12th China Folk Art Mountain Flower Award and Folk Art Performance Award (Folk Skill). Zhu Shiliang said that this marked the leap of Jianou from street juggling to folk art.

Jian Ou has performed many times in Jian Ou, and has won the gold medal of the Cross-Strait Folk Art Invitational Competition. Zhu Shiliang said that in the performance, the "collision" and communication between artists of various categories will always resonate. "Every performance, we show the best side to everyone."

"At present, the old, middle, young, and young generations in the regiment are insisting on picking the flag, and it can be said that there are successors." Zhu Shiliang said that he is happy to see this scene at an ancient age, and will continue to stick to it, dedicating his whole life to the protection and inheritance of the Jianou flag-picking technique.
