The Marivent Palace has hosted tonight the reception that the Kings, accompanied by the Queen emerita, Doña Sofía, have offered to the authorities of the Balearic Islands and a representation of Balearic society. It is one of the great events on the official agenda of the Royal Family every summer, an act that has only been canceled during the pandemic and that also for that same reason changed location in 2019, when it was held at the Almudaina Palace, but last year the Kings decided to hold the reception again in the gardens of their residence in Mallorca.

As it happens on almost all great occasions, Queen Letizia has taken the opportunity to give a boost to Spanish fashion. It is something he has been doing for the last five years, always choosing looks with a seal made in Spain. Last year she opted for a long boho chic dress, with bardot neckline and skirt with ruffles by the designer Charo Ruiz, a nod to Mallorca since the creator – who became famous for dressing the Infanta Leonor, although the model Naomi Campbell and even Michelle Obama have also worn her designs – resides in Ibiza.

Previously, Juan Duyos and Juan Vidal, among other creators, have been responsible for the dresses, usually with tropical prints and long midi, that Doña Letizia has worn.

Tonight Queen Letizia has replicated the pattern and has opted for a similar cut design that replaced the orange color of last summer with a flattering and fresh print in blue tones that, also, like the previous year, makes a nod to the colors of the island and the characteristic mosaics of the Mediterranean.

It is a dress with a tight boat neckline with elastic and paper bag skirt that marks waist with a cord of the same fabric and belongs to the Desigual brand, a Spanish company based in Barcelona that is characterized by a unique mixture of colors, fabrics and prints.

The model belongs to the 2022 collection of Stella Jean for the firm, made with sustainable materials and responsible processes, and when it was put on sale it cost 159 euros, although later it could be obtained in sales period for only 79 euros. It is currently sold out.

And as usual since she steps on Mallorca, Queen Letizia has combined her dress with comfortable matching white espadrilles, this time with platform, and has collected her hair in an informal high ponytail with stripe on one side and light bangs.
