It was found that a company operating a nursery school in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, had fraudulently received operating expenses and subsidies of about 5500 million yen by inflating the number of nursery teachers, and the ward decided to demand its return.

The fraudulent recipient was Faithful Lovers in Kawasaki City, which operates the licensed nursery school "Pure Meguro Minami Nursery School" in Meguro Ward.

According to the ward, since the nursery school opened three years ago, through March this year, employees of the headquarters and retired childcare workers have fraudulently received operating expenses and subsidies of about 3 million yen by listing them in the staff list as if they were working at the nursery school.

In response to whistleblowing reports such as "unqualified staff members are in charge of homeroom work," the ward conducted an investigation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and was discovered.

The capacity of the nursery school was 3 people, and according to the standards of the ward, 5500 nursery teachers were required, but it seemed to be enough, and the company explained to the survey that "it was difficult to secure childcare workers.

It is said that improvements are being made by hiring new staff, but the ward is requesting the return of the fraudulent payment and strengthening guidance such as regularly checking the operational status.

The president of the operating company told NHK, "We are sorry, but we will aim for proper management so that we can gain trust in the future."
