【Explanation】Yaozhou porcelain is the representative of celadon in northern China, because the origin is in the Song Dynasty under the jurisdiction of Yaozhou, so it is called Yaozhou porcelain, which belongs to one of the six major kiln systems in China. It is reported that Yaozhou porcelain was first created in the Tang Dynasty, and it has a firing history of more than 1400 years.

Meng Shufeng, 68 years old this year, was born in a ceramic family in Chenlu Town, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, and in 1974, he studied and restored the <>-year-old Yaozhou celadon with his mentor Mr. Li Guozhen, and then independently researched and restored Shaanxi folk porcelain, opening up the international market and research field of Shaanxi ceramics. Subsequently, Meng Shufeng successfully declared "Yaozhou Kiln Ceramics Firing Technique" as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage items.

(I) have been doing research, design, creation, innovation and management of ceramics on the front line. As my own lifelong ceramics, I have such a sense of mission, (to) be responsible for the country, love our traditional culture and our nation and people, contribute to our people, and want to use this professional technology we learned in Tao University to make our hometown rich and strong, and make our industry developed.

【Commentary】In 2017, Meng Shufeng opened Yaozhou porcelain studio in Xi'an. In his studio, the reporter saw that Yaozhou porcelain covered the entire exhibition hall, some colors were as smooth as jade, some patterns were mysterious and exquisite, and some porcelain was given a "sense of story" by the years, full of cracks, quietly telling the thousands of years of history of this famous kiln.

Its (Yaozhou porcelain) ceramic shape is very tall, concise, its applique, its scratches are very beautiful and dashing, its carving layer by layer of knife, very rigorous, its carving is the knife width knife deep, the line is unpredictable, its rust flower, mysterious and weird, represents our high (super) spiritual world and cultural level.

【Commentary】When talking about the characteristics of Yaozhou porcelain, Meng Shufeng told reporters that Yaozhou porcelain not only has the well-known "celadon carving", but also black porcelain, white porcelain, flower porcelain, etc., because different eras have different materials, firing fuels, forms of expression and aesthetic orientation, so the development process of Yaozhou porcelain also reflects its inclusiveness and diversity.

It is understood that in the decades of making and researching ceramic techniques, Meng Shufeng's works have also "traveled" abroad many times to participate in exhibitions, and have been collected by many museums at home and abroad. At the same time, Meng Shufeng has also been committed to spreading the ancient culture contained in Yaozhou porcelain for many years, and now he is "full of peach and plum garden".

My own major is ceramic art design, and I am very, very lucky to be able to learn from Teacher Meng. As a "post-95" young man, I always chat with Teacher Meng and communicate the thoughts of our younger generation with him, and Teacher Meng will always give me some very, very good advice. Teacher Meng, he carried forward Yaozhou porcelain step by step, which is very worthy of our learning, we should keep up with the pace of Teacher Meng, keep our culture, and continue to carry forward our Yaozhou porcelain.

【Commentary】Regarding the inheritance of Yaozhou porcelain, Meng Shufeng believes that the key lies in cultivating new ceramic talents, spreading the profound culture contained here, so that more people can understand the charm of Yaozhou porcelain, and continue to burn this thousand-year-old kiln fire.
