Jointly created by Minnan Grand Theatre, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and Dunhuang Academy, China Dunhuang Grotto Conservation Research Foundation and Tianjin Museum, this event invited Jiang Ni, associate professor of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Yang Chunyang, head of the Moral Education Department of the Party Committee of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Zhang Xin, teacher of the Department of Mobile Media Art of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Wang Weiyi, former director of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum, and Zhou Yang, assistant professor of the School of History and Cultural Heritage of Xiamen University. Jointly discuss the development and inheritance of Dunhuang history and culture in the new era.

Dunhuang is world-famous for the Mogao Grottoes. As the throat of the Silk Road, it was once a place of religious belief and national culture, witnessing the most brilliant moments of traditional Chinese art. "Hall of Shock: Dunhuang Art Immersive Painting and Drama Exhibition" integrates the highly designed theater space with electronic art and visual art, combines the original spatial form of the Minnan Grand Theater, gives full play to the advantages of the theater as a performing arts space, and allows the architectural aesthetics and visual aesthetics to collide here in the mode of immersive performance, so that the audience can get an immersive artistic experience.

According to the organizers, the project is divided into two chapters: "The Hall of Shock: Encountering the Oldest Grotto Dunhuang Art Immersive Painting Show" and "Thousands of Universes - Dunhuang Theme Painting Exhibition", the former immersively reproduces the history and culture of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes in various ways such as modern light and shadow technology, limbs, and white speech, helping to "bring cultural relics to life"; THE LATTER, WITH THE THEME OF "ALL FOR YOU", STARTS FROM THE WORKS OF TWO YOUNG ARTISTS AND TRIES TO EXPLORE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ANCIENT CIVILIZATION AND CONTEMPORARY CREATION.

As one of the supporting activities of this exhibition, Minnan Grand Theatre and Dunhuang Academy jointly launched the "Dunhuang Art Journey" to present to audiences who yearn for the history and culture of Dunhuang.

This is the first exhibition of the "8 Minnan Grand Theater Crossover Art Series", followed by "Chen Qi No Place 29", which covers the masterpieces of watermark woodcuts, ink paintings, installations and videos by Professor Chen Qi, an internationally renowned artist and dean of the Graduate School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and "Infinite Future" showing the creativity of contemporary young artistic talents.
