»Doesn't seem to matter what I do / I'm always number two« – it doesn't seem to matter what I do, I'm always in second place. With these accusatory lines, Ken actor Ryan Gosling starts his ballad "I'm Just Ken" in the film "Barbie". It has now entered the US Billboard Hot 100 charts – not at number 2 – but at number 87. Nevertheless, record-breaking.

»Barbie« by director Greta Gerwig was released in cinemas at the end of July – since then, the blockbuster has attracted countless people to cinemas worldwide. And success was inevitable: The music video for »I'm Just Ken«, for example, was released in advance – and went viral.

In the song, Ken sings of his eternal position as number two behind Barbie – who doesn't even reciprocate his love. The track was produced by Mark Ronson, and also features Slash, guitarist of the band Guns n' Roses, Wolfgang van Halen and Josh Freese of the Foo Fighters, as the producer told »Vulture«.

Along with »Oppenheimer«, »Barbie« is currently one of the most successful feature films in the world. The film has already grossed more than 800 million dollars worldwide – which makes it the most commercially successful film by a female director of all time, writes »Consequence Sound« .
