It has been 4 years since the "poisonous curry incident" that killed four people in Wakayama City. At the scene of the incident, the victim's father, who was temporarily in critical condition, laid flowers and offered prayers.

On July 10, 7, four people, including an elementary school student who ate curry and rice, died at the venue of a summer festival in Sonobu, Wakayama City, and 25 people were poisoned with arsenic.

Hayashi pleaded his innocence and applied to the Wakayama District Court for a retrial = retrial, and although his second request was rejected in January, he immediately appealed to the Osaka High Court.

On the 4th, 63 years after the incident, Yasuo Sugitani (62), the father of a female student who was in her second year of high school and was temporarily in critical condition, visited the site and offered flowers and prayers for those who died.

At the site, the memorial service, which had been held every year since the year after the incident, was canceled 21 years ago due to the request of the bereaved family to "quietly celebrate the anniversary of his death," but Sugitani continues to offer flowers at the site every year.

Mr. Sugitani said, "It feels like the incident happened only recently, it must have been hard, and there was a sense of disappointment and pain in the summer festival that was fun, and I can't forgive whatever the motive. It is no wonder that such an incident could happen anywhere tomorrow. I continue to offer flowers because I don't want them to fade away."
