After a roller coaster accident in the Legoland amusement park in the Bavarian town of Günzburg with numerous injured people, several people are being investigated. On the basis of an expert opinion, the suspicion arose that the accident had been caused by a lack of care, said a spokesman for the Memmingen public prosecutor's office.

Several defendants are being investigated on suspicion of negligent bodily injury. Previously, the »Augsburger Allgemeine« had reported on it.

Roller coaster initially out of service after accident

On August 11, 2022, a train from the "Fire Dragon" roller coaster hit a train in front of it in the amusement park. As a result, more than 30 people were injured. The roller coaster was then out of service for a long time for investigations and further work, but was released after about two months.

The spokesman for the public prosecutor's office did not want to give any information about the exact number of the accused. In addition, he left open whether these are employees of the park itself or external responsible persons, such as inspectors of the roller coaster. Even though the investigations are now pointing in the direction of human error, the spokesman did not want to rule out technical defects in the roller coaster. It is still unclear how long the further investigation will take.
