A former member of the Ground Self-Defense Force who was sexually abused met with a member of the Ministry of Defense's Expert Committee on Harassment Countermeasures on May 25 and requested that the SDF be thoroughly educated to prevent damage.

Rina Gonoi, a 23-year-old former Ground Self-Defense Force officer, complained under her real name that she was sexually assaulted by multiple members of the unit in Fukushima Prefecture to which she belonged until last year.

The Ministry of Defense established an expert panel consisting of lawyers, doctors, and others in November last year to fundamentally review harassment countermeasures, and on November 11, committee members in Yokohama City listened to opinions on measures requested by Mr. Gonoi.

The meeting was held behind closed doors, and according to Mr. Gonoi,
▽ In order to unify the awareness of harassment and prevent damage, ▽ In order to unify the awareness of harassment and prevent damage, ▽ Experts are called once a month for training, ▽ If damage occurs, ▽ If damage occurs,
the victim and the perpetrator will not be allowed to meet. They requested that the facts be confirmed promptly.

Mr. Gonoi said, "Because I like the Self-Defense Forces, I hope that they will change into a better organization, and I hope that they will make use of their experience and improve it so that the same damage does not occur in the future."

The panel of experts has decided to compile recommendations in the future based on the meeting on the 25th, and the Ministry of Defense intends to incorporate the contents of the recommendations into measures against harassment.
