Six drivers believed to be "roulette tribes" circling the Metropolitan Expressway at breakneck speed have been arrested. The number of "roulette tribes" tends to increase every year during long summer vacations, and the Metropolitan Police Department has decided to strengthen its crackdown.

A total of six people were arrested, including Hajime Aoki, 21, who is unemployed in Tama City, Tokyo.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, in March this year, he drove a car at an average speed of 3 km/h for about 1.5 km on the Metropolitan Expressway, and was suspected of joint dangerous acts under the Road Traffic Law for causing danger to surrounding cars such as repeatedly changing course and overtaking.

The speed limit was 108 km/h, but the maximum speed was 50 km/h, and some suspects made eight laps of the Metropolitan Expressway in a few hours.

Five of the six admitted to the charges and one reserved a denial.
