On the afternoon of July 7, after more than 23 hours of joint efforts by police and citizens and drone participation in the rescue, the 20-year-old grandmother who went up the mountain to collect medicine was finally rescued.

At about 7 o'clock on July 22, 14-year-old Grandma Zhang of Tianquan Lake Town, Luxi County, and 91-year-old Grandma Wang of the same village went up the mountain to cut herbs, and after more than an hour, the two separated. After hearing the news of the disappearance of the grandmother, Grandma Zhang's children and more than 80 people from the same village went up the mountain to look for it, and everyone scattered to find it until about 20:20 but did not find it, so they called 30 to call the police for help.

After receiving the 110 order, Liu Xiandong, a police officer at the Tianquan Lake Police Station, quickly led a team to search the mountain with his family. On the dark mountain, the civilian auxiliary police shouted with electric lights and horns, and they were not found until the early morning of the next day. Early on the morning of the 23rd, the police contacted the blue sky rescue team of Luxi County and the blue sky rescue team of Huai'an City by phone to go for reinforcement. At 8 o'clock, rescuers with drones rushed to the mountain to start a search. Due to the large area of the mountain and the complex terrain, the morning search was still fruitless.

When everyone was anxious and helpless, auxiliary police officer Sun Yong told the police that his friends Wu Yingdong and Wu Zhigang brothers had a horse dog and had received formal training to participate in the search and rescue, and the police quickly asked Sun Yong to contact the Wu brothers. At about 14 o'clock, the Wu brothers rushed to the scene of the incident with the dog, let the dog smell Grandma Zhang's clothes in advance, and then participated in the search and rescue with other personnel. At about 16:30, the search and rescue dog barked wildly on the top of a mountain, and after hearing the dog barking, the police and other rescuers arrived together and found a person in a depression on the top of the mountain, and when they came closer, they saw that it was the lost Grandma Zhang, who was leaning against a large tree at this time, with a haggard face and extreme collapse. The police quickly brought mineral water and fed it to her little by little, and after the old man's dehydration eased, the Blue Sky Rescue Team members carried out simple medical treatment of the wounds on Grandma Zhang's body. Subsequently, the civilian auxiliary police and other rescue workers took turns carrying the old man home from the top of the mountain to recuperate. At present, the old man is no longer harmed.
