After the drug-related death of a 13-year-old from Altentreptow (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) in connection with ecstasy, her parents have spoken out publicly for the first time. "Definitely, she did not do it voluntarily," said the mother in an interview with "stern TV am Sonntag" (RTL). Only days earlier, her daughter Finja had experienced the collapse of a friend.

Finja told her parents in panic about the incident because she thought her friend was going to die. She had noticed their seizures and shortness of breath and the treatment in the hospital directly. Finja herself confirmed, according to the information, that the collapse of her friend had occurred after drug use.

"She said she wouldn't do that"

Due to the fear of death that Finja had for her friend, the parents were convinced that their daughter had not taken the ecstasy pill voluntarily, said "stern TV am Sonntag". She said she didn't do that," the mother emphasized. The parents appealed to all children and adolescents: "Don't take colorful pills! If something is offered, do not accept it! Go away, call the police! It can't happen again that someone dies because of this stuff."

Deadly drug use: "We have never seen that even one tablet leads to a fatal overdose"By Julia Köppe

The parents seemed composed during the interview, but at the same time deeply desperate. "You're standing in front of a deep black hole, you're just functioning, and you're thinking, 'Why?'" said the mother. "Our lives are destroyed," said the father. "She was a cheerful girl."

"Then everything happened very quickly"

After their daughter was admitted, the parents drove to the clinic in Neubrandenburg. "Then everything happened very quickly. That was madness," says the mother. Finja didn't react to anything anymore. The father emphasized that the doctors did not have the time. "You have done everything in all your power for our daughter. She could no longer be helped. There was simply no time. It happened so fast."

After the death of the 13-year-old, an arrest warrant had been issued against a 37-year-old. According to the Neubrandenburg District Court, he is said to have given narcotics to minors in two cases. No arrest warrant had been issued against a 17-year-old due to the lack of a reason for arrest. The police had initially arrested four suspects.

Warning against vigilante justice by parents

In the northeast, the police had recently warned against independent investigations, for example by parents. "In case of doubt, this can put you in danger if, for example, you try to get more information as a straw buyer," says the Neubrandenburg police headquarters. "We also warn against vigilante justice with regard to possible participants or suspected dealers."

Incidents with the chemical drug "Blue Punisher" are currently causing a stir in several federal states. This is a special manifestation of ecstasy tablets. Origin and active ingredient can vary independently. Most recently, such pills had been noticed by an apparently very high concentration and as particularly dangerous.
