In her book entitled "La Souterraine", released on May 4, 2023 by Seghers editions, Sophie Marceau confides in her relationship with her former companion Christophe Lambert. The 56-year-old actress says she spent seven years of her life "chasing after him." A painful experience that deeply marked her, even if she is now on good terms with her ex.

Sophie Marceau abandons comedy to... writing! At 56, the actress has just released her second book, La Souterraine, a collection of 13 short stories, fables and poems. If Sophie Marceau did not clearly state that it was an autobiography, she was undeniably inspired by her own experiences to feed her characters. And, one of them particularly touched her, as she explained in an interview as part of the promotion of her book.

"You? You were building things"

"This character has always intrigued and touched me. Men are touching, their sensitivity is not always expressed and that's what is missing in this man's life too," she said. The character in question has the same behavior as a certain Christophe Lambert, the former companion of Sophie Marceau, with whom she lived from 2007 to 2014. The two actors fell in love with the set of La Disparue de Deauville.

Passionate, their relationship was nevertheless painful for the actress, frustrated that Christophe Lambert is still absent. The actor was indeed making a career in the United States. Sophie Marceau was waiting for him wisely in France... "That's why I looked for it for 7 years, that's kind of the story," she wrote in La Souterraine. "You? You built things, you were successful, then you had problems, you didn't talk about them or you hid them. Where were you actually? You had a travel bag all the time, you didn't have a house or I've never seen your house."

Sophie Marceau, no longer able to stand this situation, ended up breaking up with Christophe Lambert in 2014. She is now in perfect love with theatre producer Richard Caillat.
