Poet and artist David Burliuk was born on July 21, 1882. Burliuk was one of the leaders of the avant-garde movement, was a member of many creative associations, such as Jack of Diamonds and Donkey's Tail. His paintings have repeatedly participated in Russian and foreign international exhibitions. In addition, Burliuk published joint collections of poems with such poets as Vladimir Mayakovsky and Velimir Khlebnikov.
