  On June 15, 2020, in order to defend the country, Chen Xiangrong and his comrades from Pingnan County fought heroically and died gloriously, and were posthumously awarded first-class merit by the Central Military Commission.

At the time of his sacrifice, Chen Xiangrong was less than 19 years old.

  Pingnan County is a key Soviet area and county in Fujian Province. Ye Fei and other revolutionaries of the older generation fought here. It is the starting point for the Sixth Regiment of the New Fourth Army to go north to fight against Japan.

In the long-term revolutionary struggle, more than 320 revolutionary martyrs were identified, known as the "county where the red flag does not fall".
