• Seventeen months later, it's finally time to reopen for the biggest nightclub in the west.

  • Despite the sanitary protocol, the Warehouse hopes to be full every evening.

And we put the sound back on!

Seventeen months later, it's finally time to reopen for the Warehouse.

This Friday evening, nearly 2,000 revelers will rush into the famous Nantes nightclub, the largest in the west, to surround themselves all night long to the sound of the region's DJs invited for this long-awaited reunion evening.

If the green light from the government had in fact been given at the beginning of July, this "big machine" of the Banana Shed, which has again climbed the steps in the top 100 of the best clubs in the world, preferred to let the summer pass to be able to stand. prepare at best. “In fact, we had no choice because we were taken aback,” explains Simon Boisson, one of the co-managers. Relaunching a place of this size is at least two months of work. We really did everything to reopen as quickly as possible. "

Closed since March 13, 2020, the establishment had to undertake a "big job" technical but also human, in particular to almost completely reconstitute its team of about twenty employees, whose recruitment is still in progress.

Today, his bosses are betting on their "fighting spirit" and "a big program" (with in particular Feder, Saturday) to forget the health protocol, which could cool some.

The 75% gauge, a "sword of Damocles"

Because the crisis has passed by there and regulars will not immediately find the Warehouse as they left it: after presenting their health pass at the entrance, they will be strongly recommended (but not required) to wear a mask. to dance. They will also discover a room a little more empty than usual since a 75% gauge has been decided for discotheques (ie a capacity of 1,900 people).

A limitation experienced as a "sword of Damocles" for the managers of the Warehouse, who hope (and this is already what is looming for Friday) to be sold out at each evening. “We call it a reopening, but in reality the activity is not fully resuming,” says Simon Boisson. We will find ourselves in financial difficulty until this limitation is lifted, so getting full is an obligation for us. “Especially since the financial health of the club would not be in good shape while the Warehouse was already talking about a“ critical situation ”in January.

"The desire to abandon was not far away, we know that it will take years to straighten the bar because we have very heavy debts, but we have not let go, says Simon Boisson.

Thousands of people participated in our fundraising campaign.

This financial but also psychological support during this difficult period was really very important for us.
