Chile signed an agreement with the Chinese laboratory Sinovac to install in Antofagasta, in the north of the country, a plant that will produce up to 60 million vaccines a year.

In addition to Chile, Sinovac is also present in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and Uruguay.

The government of Sebastián Piñera, which is in its final stretch in a presidential election year, plans to inoculate about two million people with the third dose in the next two weeks, more than 10% of the population in a country of 19 millions of inhabitants.
