Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City announced on the 18th that 16 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
Of these, 13 men and women in their 20s to 70s were confirmed to be infected in Sendai.
The cumulative total of infected people in the prefecture is 1695, including those who have already recovered.
Sendai City will hold a press conference from 6 pm to explain the details.
