Shiga Prefecture announced on the 3rd that four new people in the prefecture were confirmed to have been infected with the new coronavirus.
A total of 458 people were confirmed infected in the prefecture.
The prefecture also announced the death of a woman aged 90 and older who had been confirmed infected.
Seven people have died in the prefecture.
