Kofu City announced that one person living in the city who had been hospitalized at a medical institution in the prefecture was confirmed dead after being infected with the new coronavirus.
In Yamanashi prefecture, 172 cases of infection have been confirmed so far, and the second person has died.
Kofu City does not disclose the age and gender due to the intention of the bereaved family.
