For the anniversary of the June 18 Appeal, two episodes of The March of the World with the exceptional participation of British historians Julian Jackson and French Olivier Wieviorka.

Julian Jackson is the author of " De Gaulle, a certain idea of France ", a biography written thanks to the consultation of the newly opened archives of the Fifth Republic, published by Seuil. Julian Jackson renews the vision of a man who is both ambitious and measured, romantic and pragmatic, convinced since his adolescence of the eminently historical role he will play to save the greatness of France.

Olivier Wieviorka is a specialist in the Second World War, author of the History of the Resistance: 1940-1945 , at Perrin. It gives us the keys to understanding to understand de Gaulle in his time, faced with the armistice and the collaboration of Marshal Pétain, he returns to the received ideas on de Gaulle and the resistance in the Second World War.

To the sound of our archives and unpublished testimonies of Lucien Servinou, one of the rare French people to have heard General de Gaulle's call on the radio, we tell in two episodes how De Gaulle made an appointment with the History.

Julian Jackson and Olivier Wieviorka received Valérie Nivelon for unpublished interviews.

A documentary by Valérie Nivelon, produced by Steven Helsly with the complicity of Sophie Janin, sound recording: Richard Riffonneau, archive research : Vanadis Feuille.
