Gangnam Style
This indictment is the latest in a series of proceedings against officials of the Burning Sun, a Seoul nightclub located in the upscale Gangnam district. According to local police, the club was known for acts of violence against certain customers, but also and above all for providing prostitutes and drugs to celebrities passing through.
Also according to CNN, several women testified to having been drugged without their knowledge or assaulted in the nightclub. Burning Sun has since closed, but the scandal has forced the Korean pop community to introspect on the practices of this very closed world and in particular on the treatment of women in the wake of these ultra-popular groups.
