Zhang Jiadong, director and professor of the South Asian Research Center of Fudan University, said in an interview with China News Agency that these eight actions cover all aspects of international economic and trade cooperation, put forward higher requirements for the high-quality construction of the "Belt and Road", and promote the upgrading of the "Belt and Road".
In 2019, China proposed high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" for the first time, aiming to promote the in-depth development of the "Belt and Road".
Zhang Jiadong said that high-quality joint construction is to upgrade the "Belt and Road" model, which in the past was mainly infrastructure investment. Infrastructure investment is the foundation, but not the goal, the purpose is to promote economic development, people-to-people exchanges and produce the benefits of world economic growth. Wang Xiaosong, a researcher at the National Institute of Development and Strategy of Chinese University and a professor at the School of Economics, said that building more and more effective working mechanisms with the joint construction of countries can improve the level of cooperation in the production and supply chain, promote policy communication and docking, integrate the industrial chain between China and the joint construction country, and ensure the stability and smoothness of the industrial chain and supply chain.

In terms of sustainable construction, the eight actions focus on green and technology. Xie Lunyu said that the eight actions cover all aspects of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
