The network problems at the Volkswagen Group have been resolved. "The IT infrastructure problems in the Volkswagen network could be fixed in the course of the night, the network is working stably again," said a spokesman for the carmaker on Thursday. The company is ramping up the affected applications again. The global production network is starting, and production is to take place according to plan. Individual systems could still be affected in a transitional phase.

According to previous information, there was no hacker attack. There are still no indications that external influences have caused the disruption, it said.

On Wednesday, an IT malfunction of network components at the Wolfsburg site paralyzed the group. At the VW brand in Germany, the production lines came to a complete standstill. In addition to the main plant in Wolfsburg, the Emden, Osnabrück and Zwickau sites were reportedly affected. Even in the offices at the headquarters in Wolfsburg, nothing worked. Production at the VW subsidiary Audi was also affected. A crisis unit has been set up.
