NATO Deputy Secretary General: the alliance sees no threat that Russia will use nuclear weapons

NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana said that the alliance does not see an imminent threat of Russia using nuclear weapons.

He added that the statements by the Russian authorities “in themselves are very dangerous because they undermine trust.”

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin called accusations against Russia about its intentions to allegedly place nuclear weapons in space a hoax and a ruse.

In addition, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, called Western statements about Russia and nuclear weapons nonsense.
