The farmers intended to take the Star "symbolically and peacefully", they explained on the networks.

Sixty-six people were arrested Friday morning at Place de l'Etoile in Paris during a surprise action by farmers from Rural Coordination, the police headquarters said.

Farmers went around the Arc de Triomphe around 6:00 a.m. Friday morning aboard eight tractors and deposited bales of straw, said the Prefecture, briefly interrupting traffic.
