Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his address to the Federal Assembly, stated the need to reduce the share of imports into the country to 17% of GDP by 2030.

“In 1999, the share of imports reached 26% of GDP... last year it already amounted to 19% of GDP, and by 2030 we need to reach an import level of no more than 17% of GDP.

And this means that we ourselves must produce consumer and other goods in much larger volumes: medicines, equipment, machines, vehicles, etc.,” he said.
