A
summit “
of an exceptional nature
”
, insists the Élysée.
This involves examining how to concretely provide aid to Ukraine, despite the context described as “
high volatility
”.
This meeting comes a week after Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky initialed bilateral security agreements at the Élysée, establishing
France's long-term aid
to Ukraine.
As announced during the meeting of the two presidents ten days ago, three billion euros in additional aid will be released.
The double message: unity and action,
to send a clear signal
to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Élysée is firm: it must understand that it will not win this war.
“
Our objective is to make President Putin doubt, to break this idea that he is tempted to make people believe that he will win
,” declared an advisor to Emmanuel Macron during a press briefing at the agency Reuters press release.
“
President Putin's Russia must not count on any weariness among Europeans
,” the French presidency also warns in a press release on X. “
The outcome of this war will be decisive for European interests, values and security.
France is, and will remain,
alongside Ukraine
and the Ukrainian people
,” adds the Elysée press release.

“Russian aggression” and intimidation
Because it is indeed the future of Europe that is at stake in Ukraine.
Objective of this conference:
to show that European countries are not tired
and still very motivated to help Kiev until the end, affirms the Élysée.
Furthermore, Paris underlines
the blatant “Russian aggressiveness
” in Ukraine, which is also indeed present in the information sphere, with Russia easily relaying “fake news” or even intimidation.
Most recent observation:
the death of Alexeï Navalny
, a key opposition figure in the country.
Russia, for the Élysée, is an actor in international chaos and disorder that must be countered at all costs.
During this meeting, European countries should not make any new announcements of arms deliveries to Ukraine, according to the president's adviser to Reuters, but will consider ways to be more effective on the ground and improve security. coordination between allies and Ukraine.
Around twenty countries will be there, mainly Europeans, but Canada and the United States will also be present.
In addition, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, British Foreign Minister David Cameron, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as well as Nordic, Baltic and Polish leaders are expected in the French capital this Monday.
