Moers: Young people attack two homeless people - 58

Highlights: Three young people aged 15, 16 and 17 attacked and injured two homeless people in Moers on the Lower Rhine. One of the victims, a 58-year-old man, died in hospital a good week after the crime. Police are investigating whether injuries from the attack caused the man's death. An arrest warrant was issued for common grievous bodily harm against the alleged main perpetrator, a 15- year-old. A witness saw the video on a work colleague's cell phone and called the police.

One pushed, one kicked in the head, one filmed: In Moers, three young people are said to have attacked two homeless men. One of the victims died in hospital days later. The police are investigating.

Three young people aged 15, 16 and 17 attacked and injured two homeless people in Moers on the Lower Rhine.

A good week after the crime on February 8th, one of the victims, a 58-year-old man, died in hospital, the police and public prosecutor's office said.

Police are investigating whether injuries from the attack caused the man's death.

The necessary forensic medical results are still pending.

According to the information, an arrest warrant was issued for common grievous bodily harm against the alleged main perpetrator, a 15-year-old.

According to initial investigation results, the suspect is said to have kicked the 58-year-old in the head on the evening of February 8th around 6 p.m.

The 17-year-old is said to have previously pushed the man to the ground.

The 15-year-old is also said to have sprayed pepper spray several times in the face of the other homeless man, a 51-year-old man, police said.

Later he also kicked him in the head several times.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old teenager filmed the event with his cell phone.

A witness saw the video on a work colleague's cell phone the next day and called the police.
