Fan Pavel Kosov, convicted of participating in the riots, considers the decision to imprison him in France to be political.


“Do I consider the decision to imprisonment to be political? There is a certain percentage, for sure. Conditions? They don’t differentiate whether you are Russian or not,” Match TV quoted Kosov as saying.

Russian fans Mikhail Ivkin and Kosov were detained in February 2018 at the request of French authorities in Munich. Fans were accused of violent acts using improvised means as weapons as part of an organized group of people during the 2016 European Football Championship.

Earlier it was reported that Kosovo returned to Russia.
