Highlights: A court in St. Petersburg arrested a man who desecrated churches and a monument. The inquiry indicated that he interacted with the “Russian Freedom Legion’* and helped citizens travel to Ukraine to participate in hostilities against Russia. Earlier it was reported that a woman was detained in Vladikavkaz for desecrating the graves of special operation fighters. “Legion “Freedom of Russia” is an organization recognized as terrorist and banned on the territory of Russia by decision of the Supreme Court of Russia.

The Kalininsky District Court of St. Petersburg chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a man who wrote offensive inscriptions on the walls of a cultural heritage site and two churches. This was reported by the joint press service of the St. Petersburg courts.


The report notes that offensive inscriptions were applied to the walls of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, as well as the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Tenderness” and the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The press service also reported that the defendant previously served in law enforcement agencies and carried out operational search activities. In addition, the inquiry indicated that he, acting in the interests of the Kyiv regime, interacted with the “Russian Freedom Legion”* and helped citizens travel to Ukraine to participate in hostilities against Russia.
