A Dutch woman and her two adult children fell to their deaths while hiking in Switzerland. The 57-year-old and her daughter (25) and son (22) were reported missing on Thursday. They had been in the area of ​​the Rochers-de-Naye mountain above Montreux. The police found their bodies on Friday around 300 meters below a steep hiking trail, they announced on Saturday. This was preceded by a major search operation.

The cause of the crash is currently unclear. The son lived in the Lausanne region, his sister and mother in the Netherlands.

The Rochers-de-Naye mountain is 2042 meters high and is a popular excursion destination. A cog railway takes visitors and hikers from Lake Geneva to over 2000 meters. When visibility is good, you can see the Alpine panorama from above, from the Eiger to Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc.
