Republican leadership in the US House of Representatives rejected a bill that combined proposals to secure American borders and allocate new money for arms supplies to Ukraine. House Speaker Michael Johnson called on the Senate to waste no time and reject the bill.

“House Republicans oppose the Senate immigration bill because it fails in every policy area needed to secure our border and will actually encourage more illegal immigration,” Johnson said in a statement.

According to him, “American sovereignty is at stake,” and the bill is already “dead” at the stage of entering the House of Representatives.
