Sara Hector third in Lienz – first podium of the season

Highlights: Sara Hector finished third in giant slalom in Lienz, Austria. It was her first podium of the season. American Mikaela Shiffrin won the race ahead of Federica Brignone. Hector was second fastest in the first run of the race. She started very strong but lost towards the end, despite that it was enough for her to take the podium. The Swedish star will compete in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. She will be the first woman to do so in the history of the event.

Sara Hector had a great day in Lienz, Austria – just like in 2021.

The Swedish star was in a great position in the giant slalom to take her first podium of the season when she was second fastest in the first run behind Mikaela Shiffrin.

The Swede started very strong but lost towards the end, despite that it was enough for the first podium of the season.

"For herself, it was incredibly nice that she is on the podium.

The winner was American Mikaela Shiffrin ahead of Federica Brignone.
