In the run-up to Christmas, the non-profit organization Secret Santa in Jönköping collects Christmas presents for children who are at risk of not receiving any. This year, they are helping 135 families. "I'm so happy that we can do this, it feels great," says initiator Linda Båge Hemmestad.

Together with her husband Tom, Linda Båge Hemmestad has been collecting Christmas presents for families through the association Secret Santa, at Christmas time for eight years. As the association has become more well-known, more people get in touch for help.

"I'm impressed by the people who get in touch because they need help. It takes courage to do that," she says.

How many Christmas presents do you receive?

"It's a difficult question, but we get enough presents for all the children to get a few presents each.

"Feels good"

Their daughter Alice Båge Hemmestad, 10, is used to helping out with the collection.

"I receive Christmas presents and give them to the people who work here.

What do you think about this?

"It feels good to give Christmas presents to children.

We notice that there are more people who get in touch and need help, says Linda Båge Hemmestad, one of the initiators and who coordinates the Christmas gift collection on Saturday. Photo: SVT
