The lack of women in the elite in E-sports is something that the Swedish E-sports Federation wants to address. Of the 26 participants in the Swedish Championships, all were men.

"It's a big challenge. In e-sports, we are extremely good at inclusion. But when we look at the pro scene, it's hard to find the women there. Within the federation, we have made a special investment in the women's team where we have developed a women's national team from last year, says Sammi Kaidi, in Sportspegeln.

In E-sports, there is an open class where all genders are welcome, but it is dominated by men.

"We've pointed this out internationally that we think it's time to split it up. There should be men and women and then a mixed class, and it is the mixed class that we will put the most effort into.
