In the group stage of the World Tour Final, the Swedes were beaten by their Norwegian rivals, but both teams made it all the way to the final.

Once there, Åhman/Hellvig was better and won in two straight sets (21-16, 21-17). The really impressive thing was when they were trailing at the end of the second set and won the final six balls.

The Swedes celebrated after the victory.

"They're almost impossible to beat against, so we really have to play our best game," Åhman said of the Olympic and World Championship champions.

The victory in Doha was their fourth on the World Tour this season.

Earlier in the day, the Swedes were in trouble. But the semi-final against Qatari home pair Cherif Younousse/Ahmed Tijan turned into victory after Åhman and Hellvig lost the first set.
