Highlights: Forecaster Shuvalov spoke about snowfall on Saturday in the southern half of the Central Federal District. According to the expert, due to the inversion, thin clouds were successfully formed in the anticyclone, covering not only the Moscow region, but also the Vladimir and Yaroslavl regions. Snowfall should be expected only in the south of the district on December 9, he said. Earlier, Anatoly Tsygankov, Deputy Head of the Situation Center of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, spoke about what weather is expected in the coming weeks in Moscow.

The head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, in an interview with RT, spoke about the weather in the Central Federal District.

According to the expert, due to the inversion, thin clouds were successfully formed in the anticyclone, covering not only the Moscow region, but also the Vladimir and Yaroslavl regions.

"That is, an anticyclone, high pressure – everything is present, but the inversion at an altitude of one kilometer, that is, the reverse course of temperature, creates a kind of greenhouse effect, a thin layer of clouds appears, which just covered Moscow and the Moscow region like a blanket. Therefore, today it was even much warmer, it was not as cold in the morning as in previous nights," Shuvalov explained.

According to him, snowfall should be expected only in the southern half of the Central Federal District on December 9.

"The frontal zone from the Turkish cyclone is rising there. So light snow and temperature in the southern half of Tula is -12...-17 °C, and Voronezh, Kursk and Belgorod are -4...-9 °C. I would rather call the snow moderate and would not give it the category of "heavy," the RT interlocutor summed up.
