The press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, said that throughout the flight until landing in Abu Dhabi, the number one plane of Russian President Vladimir Putin was accompanied by Su-35S fighters.
"The mentioned fighters carried standard weapons of various classes. The take-off of the Su-35S flight was carried out from an operational airfield in Russia in difficult weather conditions with heavy rain and gusty winds. The fighters were piloted by first-class pilots," he said.
According to him, special permits were obtained from the states over the territory of which the flight was carried out for the air escort of the presidential aircraft.
"We are grateful to these states for their cooperation," Peskov said.
