A soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of residents of Mariupol

Taran was in Mariupol as part of the unit in March-April 2022. There he killed seven civilians. One woman was injured and survived by pretending to be dead. A serviceman of the Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Taran, was sentenced to life imprisonment for repeated killings of civilians in Mariupol.


This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The investigation and the court established that Taran was in Mariupol as part of the unit in March-April 2022. There he killed seven civilians. One woman was injured and survived by pretending to be dead.

Some of the murders were committed by Taran on the orders of the command.

The Supreme Court of the LPR found him guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Earlier, RT reported that four Ukrainian servicemen were convicted of killing eight civilians in Mariupol.

At the same time, one was sentenced to life imprisonment, and three to long terms of imprisonment.
