There was no move from Everton for Nathalie Bjorn after a strong World Cup – despite Real Madrid reportedly making record bids. But this summer, the 26-year-old's contract expires and she is open to leaving Everton. "I feel that I need to take a new step," she told SVT Sport.

Fotbollskanalen reported in September that Real Madrid had made several bids for Nathalie Björn, where there would have been a record sale for a central defender if it had gone through.

But Everton reportedly turned down the bids, partly because they didn't find a replacement in time.

The interest from Real Madrid is said to remain and when Nathalie Björn is asked about it today, she is tight-lipped.

"I can't say anything," Björn told SVT Sport with a smile.

Since Nathalie Björn's contract expires this summer, she can sign a contract with a new club as early as January and be ready for a free transfer for next season.
