The British company will supply enriched uranium to Ukraine until 2035

The British company Urenco has signed an agreement with the Ukrainian operator of the nuclear power plant Energoatom that it will supply enriched uranium to Ukraine until 2035.


"On November 27, 2023, Petro Kotin, President of SE NNEGC Energoatom, and Borys Shukht, Chief Executive Officer of Urenco, signed a contract for the supply of enriched uranium product for Ukrainian nuclear power plants," the Ukrainian company said in a statement.

The contract can be extended until 2043. According to the organization, the current contract for the supply of nuclear materials expires in 2025.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that it is very difficult to overestimate Russia's position in the uranium market.
